Artwork Story: That's our dreaming, only bush plum. Amern Arnwekety. Sweet ones. Kwaty coming and they're growing. They start off green then cooked ones go black. You can fill them up in a billy can and eat them. Those seeds move all around the place. Anywhere in Utopia.

Artist Story: A vibrant and bubbly person, the late Mrs Ngala spoke little English and lived a traditional life in Utopia. Mrs Ngala was born in 1940 into the Anmatyerre tribe. Like many of the women in Utopia, she began her artistic career in batik before venturing into painting with acrylic paints on canvas. She used a wide palette of colours and often depicted the topography in shades of reds, oranges and yellows, reflecting the varying seasonal palette.
